A list of all our events since the collective started.

21st October 2017
Facebook Group created by Anabella Bergero, former BA Fashion Design Womenswear student at Central Saint Martins, starting with 30 members.

29th November 2017
Officially founded as an Arts Student Union Society of UAL under the name ‘Latinos Creative Society’ by Annabella Bergero and Maria Teresa Chadwick (MA Arts and Sciences at Central Saint Martins). Added to the Arts SU Societies page, open to a free membership. César Baracca becomes godfather of the society.

30th November 2017
First meeting in the Platform Theatre Foyer Bar at Central Saint Martins, organized by Annabella Bergero. UAL latinx student community meets in person for the first time.

3rd December 2017
The Latinos Creative Society logo is created, as an inverted map of Latin America in black, with the word ‘Latinos’ across the map. Designed by Yolanda Santamaria (BA Graphics Design at Central Saint Matins).

November—December 2017
María Teresa Chadwick and Anabella Bergero form society committee and manage the society. Both act as president, treasurer and social media manager. Sofia Rubio becomes the society’s historian (MA Journalism and Publishing).

13th February 2017
Latinos Creative Society is featured in Express News Radio UK. Annabella Bergero was interviewed by Arelys Gonçalvez and Ulyses Maldonado.

Feb 2017—June 2018
Society managed by María Teresa Chadwick (President, Treasurer, Communications Manager) and Sofia Rubio as the journalist (MA Arts and Lifestyle Journalism at LCC).

9th February 2017

15st February 2018
Latinos Creative Society adds Latin American Literature Classics’ to the Central Saint Martin’s Library donated by The Latin American House. Books where endorsed and received by Kate Fletcher (CSM Librarian Manager).

21st February 2018
First formal society event: ‘What does it mean to be a Contemporary Creative Latin American in London?’ panel discussion at Latin American House moderated by Annabella Bergero, featuring UAL Student speakers: Juan Covelli, Isaac De Reza, Kate Bautista, Maria Teresa Chadwick and Victoria Maldonado. Latin American Poetry Reading Event at the Central Saint Martins’ Archway to inaugurate the new addition of Latin American literature classics to CSM Library.

10th May 2018
‘César Baracca: Collective Creation through Appropriation and Money’ Panel Discussion moderated by Isaac De Reza (BA Fine Art at CSM) at Camberwell College of Arts

11th May 2018     
Latinos Creative Society Manifesto Declaration: ‘Being Together is not Enough’ presented at The Five Years Archway Unit. The ‘Manifesto Map’ is created and signed by society members, alumni, performers and attendees of the event. 

15th—18th June 2018
‘Latin American Myth Deconstruction’ Exhibition at The Crypt Gallery curated by Maria Teresa Chadwick featuring around 35 artists amongst them UAL students and guest artists.

16th June 2018 
‘How to Construct/Deconstruct an Arpillera Doll’ workshop at The Crypt Gallery led by Robert Bacic (founder of Conflict Textiles Collection) and Elsie Doolan.

9th August—11th September 2018
‘Neo Norte’ Exhibition at Fundación Cultural de Providencia in Santiago, Chile curated by Maria Teresa Chadwick featuring UAL students and guest artists.

September 2018
New management team formed by Victoria Maldonado as President (BA Fashion Design and Development at LCF), Isaac De Reza as Treasurer (BA Fine Art at CSM) and Kate Bautista as Vice President/Social Media Manager (BA Bespoke Tailoring at LCF). Name of society is updated to ‘Latinxs Creative Society’.

19th October 2018
First meeting of the year ‘Primera Comunión’ at La DistriAndina restaurant.

2nd November 2018
‘Public and Mobile Day of the Dead Altar’ event led by Kate Bautista and Victoria Maldonado at London College of Communication canteen and Elephant and Castle.

15th November 2018
‘My Hands are My Heart’ workshop led by Isaac De Reza. Part of the Arts Active UAL program at Wilson Rd Lecture Hall, Camberwell College of Art.

16th November 2018
‘Festival de La Telenovela’ view and discussion of Latin American Soap Operas at London College of Communication.

26th November 2018
‘Venas Abiertas: A Celebration of Latin American Identity Beyond its Borders’. Photography and performance presentation by Paulina Olivares (Final Year MA Fashion Communication and Promotion student at Central Saint Martins) in collaboration with Latinx Creative Society at SET Dalston.

22nd February 2019
‘Cambalache, Exchange, Troca’ meet up/open call for final year exhibition at The Street, CSM.

5th April 2019
Meet-up and selection for End of Term Exhibition at the CSM bar. Name selected for the exhibit is ‘El Deseo’.

8th May 2019

Panel Discussion: ‘Identity Through Art’ moderated by Victoria Maldonado with guest speaker Fiona McKay from White Line Projects (London-based curatorial and creative direction studio).

‘Neo Norte’ Exhibition at Central Saint Martin’s Window 3. Curated by Maria Teresa Chadwick (MA Arts and Sciences at CSM), the Latinxs Creative Society exhibited the ‘Manifesto Map’ and Video.

18th February 2020
Kate Bautista steps down from Vice Presidency of the society.

28th February 2020
‘Reggeaton Class + Dinner’ meet up with Goldsmith’s Reggeaton Classes led by Natalia Delmastro (Professional Dancer based in London) at Goldsmiths College.

4th March 2020
Rebranding Workshop, led by Adan Farias Forero at CSM Graphic Design studio. Part II to consolidate new and updated society branding.

11th March 2020
‘Women of the Venezuelan Chaos’ screening and panel discussion in Lecture Theatre B at London College of Communication. Panel Discussion led by Victoria Maldonado with guest speaker Director Margarita Cadenas. Event in collaboration with Film Files Society.

15th March 2020 
Webpage Proposal: Michelle Leaño Escobar (BA Graphic Design at Camberwell) proposes creation of a webpage for the Collective, to Latinxs Collective management team.

May 2020
New elected management team formed by Victoria Maldonado as President (BA Fashion Design and Development at LCF), Michelle Leaño Escobar as Vice President (BA Graphic Design at LCC), Carmen Del Pilar Villanueva as Treasurer/Social Media Manager (BA Menswear at LCF) and Adan Farías Forero as Graphic Designer (MA Graphic Design at CSM).
